How to be independent?
Do you have a dash of confidence to stand on your own feet but helplessly don't have any know-how? Or, are you craving for freedom, unleashing the chain that binds you from your parents or guardian? The independence that most teens desire to and the freedom to do whatever they like are much easier to think of than done. However, plentiful tips are there to release yourself from the control of your parents or guardians. I did this when I first decided to live on my own.
1. Speak up.
It is a stale thing but matters much. Small things lead to big ones. Start expressing what you want to say. And, you have to control yourself from the amenable dictate of others. If you have the opportunity to speak when you have a huddle with your family and friends regarding a project or a plan, speak up. Small things as such can boost your confidence and so can bolster your decision making.
2. Seek counsel.
If others can do, why can't you. Learn from the people around you with such experience of living on their own. I did this when I decided to be independent. I ask from my brother, from my parents, from my peers. Experience is the great advice 'cause it is real. Before I embraced the life of being on my own, I took the advice of the people around me. I gathered and sorted what for me were applicable in the particular situation I saw to be in.
3. Learn basic household chores.
Remember that you want a life that no one dictates on what you do and what not. Learning basic household chores such as cooking, cleaning, and other housekeeping makes your plan to be independent at ease.
I found my way-out from the hands of my parents not difficult since I know the basics. Mind me, you will need this. You can indeed survive even you are lazy, but industriousness will grab much faster the success you aim to.
4. Take courage.
From an unknown author:
"Take risk: If you win, you will be happy. If you lose, you will be wise."Everything starts in your first step. Don't lurk in your fear. You will regret it. I assure you if you don't act.
5. Be friendly.
You will be in a different atmosphere. Different personality. Different traits. But, this is not something to fear of. With friendly personality, people will like you. Your neighbors will treat you nicely. (That's if they are good.)
